Inbound Logistics covers all mechanisms of bringing stock onto site. Including from suppliers and other internal sites. The primary mechanism is a Delivery Note (often called a GRN/Goods Received Note) and supports a mechanism of Purchase Orders. Goods received often requires a grading or quality assurance process which is supported. The goods are delivered using a transport vehicle (Truck, Rail, etc.) and may also include a driver or haulier. The tracking of all this additional information is catered for on the delivery note. Integration with access control as well as internal vehicle routes is also supported. Vehicle Delivery Scheduling Module provides a mechanism to create and fill slots with a web-based/mobile application for suppliers/hauliers to book their trucks.

The goods are dispatched using a transport vehicle (Truck, Rail, etc.) and may also include a driver or haulier. The tracking of all this additional information is catered for on the loading schedule/vehicle dispatch schedule. Integration with access control as well as internal vehicle routes is also supported. Vehicle Dispatch Scheduling Module provides a mechanism to create and fill slots with a web-based/mobile application for customers/hauliers to book their trucks.

Vehicle Access Control

Vehicle Access Control is a mechanism of identifying the documentation, vehicle and driver on arrival, and then being able to positively identify the truck and its driver as it moves through the site. By splitting up its route though the site into zones. At the first zone, we register the driver by either, creating a delivery note in Inbound, or by associating the driver to the Vehicle Dispatch Schedule on Outbound. The registration process included printing a documentation and vehicle barcode with a unique number for tracing the vehicle through the process. The security guard will place the documentation barcode on the relevant driver document and the vehicle barcode on the vehicle itself. The security guard will then scan the documentation barcode, vehicle barcode, driver’s license, vehicle license, and if available, the pups/trailers as well as capturing the drivers cell phone number. Once the vehicle is determined to be ready to come on site, we use the cell phone number to alert the driver via SMS to move to the next zone. From there, the driver continues through the site, having his documentation barcode, vehicle barcode, driver’s license and vehicle license rescanned at each zone to verify that the combination of driver, vehicle, and documentation is positively consistent.
